THE SYNTHESIS PROBLEM OF LINEAR SEPARABILITY

Abstract

The synthesis problem of linear separability for switching functions is to determine whether or not a given switching function is linearly separable, and to find a system of weights and threshold value in case the given switching function is linearly separable. In this report, an effective general method for this problem is developed by means of the principle of bounding solutions in the theory of linear inequalities. Then, the results are applied to establish rigorously Willis' method as presented in a previous report. (Author)
