AN ELIMINATION PROCESS FOR THE WILLIS SYNTHESIS METHOD

Abstract

A procedure is presented for solving the system of linear inequalities which results from application of what is called the Willis method in determining whether a function is linearly separable, and, if so, the appropriate weights and threshold values. The procedure described uses successive elimination to solve the system of linear inequalities, and can be traced toA PROCESS PROPOSED BY Fourier. The fundamental notions involved are described and an example is given to illustrate various stages of the procedure. (Author)
