A GREGORIAN CORRECTOR FOR SPHERICAL REFLECTORS

Abstract

Research was conducted on spherical reflecting surfaces for wide-angle scanning antennas. The inherent spherical aberration of a spherical reflector antenna is corrected by using an auxiliary Gregorian reflector feed system that rotates about the center of curvature of the reflector. Tests at both X- and K-band frequencies demonstrated feasibility of the design for wideangle scanning. (Author)
