Abstract

The purpose of this study is the development of an angular rate indicating instrument based on measuring the angular rate of an artificially induced vortex. The measurement of the change in rate of the artificially induced vortex is the measure of an externally superimposed rotation on the system. The successful achievement of this development would provide an instrument to replace gyroscopes.
