Abstract

I DENTIFI RS: H licopters H-34, Hovering, Autorotative re-e try, Helicopter collective control, Climbing.An investigation wa made of the stability and control problems associated with engine failure and high speed autorotative entry of model HSS/HUS helicopters. At any condition of high power (climb, OGE hover, high speed flight) immediate pilot reaction is re uired to s tisfactorily enter autorotation. Additional prep redness is also requir d of the pilot during operation at low rotor speed or during operation under turbulent air conditions. Information based on the evaluation is included for i corporation in the Flight Manual. (Author)
