ELEVATED TEMPERATURE PROPERTIES OF NARMCO 102 ADHESIVE SYSTEM AND 2618-T6 ALUMINUM ALLOY

Abstract

Research was conducted to determine the room temperature and 175 F lap shear strengths of specimens made with Narmco 102 adhesive and to determine the room temperature and 175 F failing shear stresses of sandwiched honeycomb panels bonded with Narmco 102 adhesive. The average lap shear strength of the specimens tested at 175 F was 77% of the specimens tested at room temperature. The average lap shear strength of the specimens tested at room temperature was 53% of the required strength stated in P.S. 11304. The average shear stress of the honeycomb specimens tested at room temperature and 175 F was more than twice the required strength stated in P.S. 14020. (Author)
