INVESTIGATION OF INORGANIC PHOTOTROPIC MATERIALS AS A BI-OPTIC ELEMENT APPLICABLE IN HIGH DENSITY STORAGE COMPUTER MEMORIES

Abstract

A general valuation of the various types of phototropic (i.e., reversible, light induced, color producing) phenomenon is given regarding the application of phototropic material to bioptic high density storage media for compu er memories. The inorganic ''F'' center type phototropic systems were chosen as the are offering the greatest potential. The results of a detailed evaluation and synthesis program in this rea substantiating this potential pplication is given. (Author)
