BACKSCATTER ECHO-PATTERN AND VERTICAL RADIATION DIAGRAM

Abstract

Backscatter echo-patterns showing a strong dependence on the vertical radiation diagram have been obtained. Owing to this result, the virtual reflection height of the backscattered radio waves and the effective backscatter distance may be determined; even the study of the displacement of ionospheric irregularities may be highly improved.
