PHASES IN THE PLANNING AND PREPARATION OF INPUTS FOR THE AIR BATTLE MODEL II

Abstract

A large-scale simulation of a two-sided global air war is discussed. This simulation is performed on an IBM 7090 (formerly an IBM 709) digital computer using a highly specialized program developed by Project OMEGA of Technical Operations, Incorporated. This program, prese tly called the Air Battle Model II, performs the numerous calculations and bookkeeping functions required for such a simulation. The Air Battle Model II (ABM II) permits the simulation of actions of the first several days of a two-sided global air battle, giving consideration to the aircraft, missiles, weapons, offensive and defensive sites, targets, and plans of both sides.
