THEORETICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES CONCERNING RADIATION DAMAGE IN SELECTED COMPOUND SEMICONDUCTORS

Abstract

The effects of energetic particles on the electrical and optical properties of various semiconducting compounds have been investigated. Emphasis has been placed on n-type GaAs irradiated with fast neutrons and 1-Mev electrons. The effects of fast-neutron irradiation on the performance of Ge, Si, and GaAs Esaki diodes have also been observed and analyzed. (Author)
