THE STATE OF DEVELOPMENT OF SILVER OXIDE-ZINC AND NICKEL-CADMIUM BATTERIES

Abstract

The objective of these studies is to present information related to the operation, performance characteristics, applications, reliability, present as well as expected developments, and physical characteristics of batteries (or battery cells) which appear feasible for use in ballistic missiles and space vehicles. This report details information about silver oxide-zinc and nickelcadmium galvanic cells. The data given are often typical rather than specific manufacturers' test results; no bias is intended, since data were selected primarily on the basis of ready availability. Addenda to this document will detail more data as they become accessible. (Author)
