TECHNICAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE IGNITION RESEARCH PROGRAM OF THE BUREAU OF NAVAL WEAPONS

Abstract

Technical recommendations are presented for an integrated program of research on solid propellant rocket ignition. Through considerations of the technical aspects of ignition, the practical goals of the research program, and the administrative problems of managing an integr ted program, the recommended research was divided into six categories, Relative Importance Studies, Ballistic Theory and Tests, Fundamental Ignition Research, Ignition Materials Research, Materials Processing and Laboratory Services, and Feasibility studies.
