RADIO PROPERTIES OF THE AURORAL IONOSPHERE-PART 2. HIGH LATITUDE OBSERVATIONS OF RADIO STAR SCINTILLATIONS

Abstract

Previous measurements of radio star scintillation were extended into the auroral zone itself, and it was shown that all previously known effects are greatly magnified in that region. Whether this is due to an intensification of the mechanism operative at lower latitudes, or whether it represents the addition of some completely different agency is not yet resolved. (Author)
