LASERS FOR AEROSPACE WEAPONRY
Abstract
A summary of the state-of-the-art in Laser research is given. Characteristics of the pres t ruby laser are described and compared with idealized characteristics. Mathematical calculations of performance using existing and idealized parameters are performed. Research to improve existing lasers is described, including new crystal materials, new sources of optical energy, and new Lasering techniques. A program is outlined to direct future Laser research and apply the developments effectively. (Author)
