PRODUCTION ENGINEERING MEASURE FOR SUBMINIATURE TEMPERATURE-COMPENSATING CERAMIC CAPACITORS

Abstract

Effort continued toward the selection of ceramic formulations for use in capacitors. Requirements were attained for the N750 and N1400 formulations. The temperature coefficient of capacitance for the NPO formulation has not yet been achieved. Two promising approaches to the solution of this problem are described. A recapitulation of the status of development of spraying capability on all three formulations is given along with a report on the latest work in the study of precoating ceramic powder. Problems in achieving satisfactory dipping coats are also discussed. Test results on the 128 Case Size I units undergoing qualification testing are given. Photographs of various finishing methods are also presented along with descriptions of improvements in the area. (Author)
