STUDIES AND INSTRUMENTATION RELATING TO THE MEASUREMENT OF INFRARED BAND INTENSITIES

Abstract

A summary is presented of the paper ''Optically Calibrated Infrared High Pressure Cell.'' The paper describes the de ign, construction and optical calibration of a short pathlength, wide aperture optical cell which can be operated from vacuum to 1000 psi. A summary is also presented of the paper ''Direct Recording of Integrated Band Intensities from a Linear Wavelength Spectrometer.'' The paper describes instrumentation which allows conversion of transmittance versus wavelength data to optical density versus wavenumber with subsequent integration of the area under the curve. A description is given of a combined glass-metal system which was used for the purification and high pressure generation of gas samples. (Author)
