MEASUREMENT TECHNIQUES FOR OBTAINING TRANSMITTER SPECTRAL OUTPUT.

Abstract

The present program of three-dimensional radiation measurements requires the services of an efficient crew which must travel to several locations throughout the southeastern United States. In preparation for making these required measurements, a preliminary measurement run was made on the AN/TPS-1D located at the EMCO Test Site, Dripping Springs, Texas. This report summarizes the three-dimensional radiation measurements made of the fundamental frequency of the AN/TPS-1D between 0 and 70 degrees elevation. Information is given concerning the equipment arrangements, shielding techniques and calibration techniques used. Photographs are used to show the equipment arrangements. The original radiation patterns taken for elevations between 0 and 70 degrees, at 5 degrees intervals of elevation, are given, as well as the completed three-dimensional plots. (Author)
