CALCULATION OF STACKING FAULT ENERGIES FOR FACE-CENTERED CUBIC METALS.

Abstract

A theoretical investigation was undertaken to determine the stacking fault energy for face-centered cubic metals. An expression was derived which relates the Debye characteristic temperature of the metal and the absolute temperature to the sticking fault energy. An Einstein oscillator was used as a model for the derivation. (Author)
