CONTAINERS, CARGO, DEHUMIDIFIED, REUSABLE.

Abstract

In response to a requirement for the protection of cargo from humidity while in transit or during storage, a free breather was designed and developed for application to a CONEX-type container. A series of tests were conducted to determine the effectiveness of the free breather as installed, the structural adequacy of the container, and the effects of actual shipping and movement on the container. Findings of these tests led to major modifications in the container structure and, thereafter, retesting. (Author)
