AN EFFECTIVE STOCHASTIC MODEL FOR INTERPRETING THE CORRELATION BETWEEN THE PRECIPITATION AT TWO STATIONS,

Abstract

An effective stochastic model as opposed to a dynamic stochastic model is proposed and defined. The correlation between the precipitation at two stations a distance R apart is worked out, in terms of the constants intervening in the model. The model is directly applicable to California data but may easily be altered to be applicable to any region. (Author)
