PERSISTENCE IN A CHAIN OF MULTIPLE EVENTS WHEN THERE IS SIMPLE DEPENDENCE,
Abstract
The correlation between the day-to-day direction of the wind is studied by means of a stochastic model of 'persistence' in a chain of events. It was found more rewarding to study 'persistence' rather than the actual correlation. New properties of the chain of multiple events are determined. An indication is given of how the theory may be applied to the data of experience. (Author)
