Some observed electro-Gasdynamic Properties of Fluid Flows.
Abstract
In the aerodynamic field, definite electromagnetic radiation was observed and recorded from shock waves in a glass shock tube. Electromagnetic radiation was also obtained from a stationary shock wave in a gas turbine research nozzle. Tests in the hydrodynamic field indicated that electromagnetic fields were also radiated from turbulent regions in fluid flows. Tests in the solid state field verified the hypothesis that an interaction occurs between bodies having electric charges and the crystal lattices of high temperature ferrous alloys. This memorandum describes tests conducted in each of these fields and the data obtained. The results of these carefully conducted tests indicate the existence of a definite interrelationship between electromagnetic fields and various other parameters in the fields of aerodynamics, hydrodynamics, and solid states.
