MATERIALS FOR AND THE MECHANISM OF GETTERING MULTIPLE COMPONENT GASES.

Abstract

Experimental work was directed toward obtaining calibration data relating the partial pressure of a gas to the observed heights of the charcteristic peaks as determined by varying the radiofrequency of the electric field produced by the oscillator. Individual gases were examined and abinary mixture of components which do not react with one another was analyzed. Theoretical equations appearing in previous reports were found to contain significant errors; the corrected equations are presented together with an explanation of how these errors tended to make theoretical analysis of experimental data more difficult. A summary of the comparisons between experimental data and predicted values which may be made in order to verify the theoretical assumptions made is given. (Author)
