DESIGN OF BROADBAND TRANSMISSION LINE EQUALIZERS,

Abstract

This analysis is concerned with the design of microwave broadband equalizers consisting of cascaded transmission lines, to work between a resistive generator and an arbitrary load. The design criterion is optimized gain bandwidth performance. Such performance is obtained by prescribing a flat power transfer characteristic, subject to the inherent restrictions of the load. The equalizer is then synthesized by the use of an approximation method devised by Carlin. Problems considered here are: (1) distributed parameter load; and (2) lumped parameter load associated with microwave broadbanding of a tunnel diode amplifier. (Author)
