STUDY OF DATA TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS FOR A SPACE SIMULATION CHAMBER

Abstract

Results are given of a study program of a telemetry system for a space environment simulation chamber. Suitable methods are determined for transferring data from 3000 test points on a rotating vehicle located inside a large environmental chamber to a data processing station outside the chamber. Various methods of data transmission, as well as related problems such as data coding and modulation and environmental effects, are analyzed. A PAM/FM microwave telemetry system utilizing waveguide rotary joints is recommended and a preliminary system design is offered. (Author)
