A PROGRAM FOR THE COMPUTATION OF THE ORBIT OF AN EARTH SATELLITE

Abstract

This report contains the pre-assembly listing of two earth satellite orbit computing programs: one written for the Burroughs 220 Computer and one written for the Philco 2000 Computer. The computational procedure is one based on Vinti's Method. In this method, the earth's gravitational potential is expressed in oblate spheroidal coordinates, which permits the separation of the Hamilton-Jacobi equation. A differential correction procedure is included. (Author)
