PRODUCTION ENGINEERING MEASURE ON 300 WATT SILICON AUDIO TRANSISTOR

Abstract

Electrical data is given for 49 state-of-the-art devices. Distribution plots of current gain and leakage are shown. Thirty units were in the 1-1/16 inch double-ende stud case. C OLD SEALING PROCEDURES ARE ILLUSTRATED. The thermal resistance measurement technique is described and typical values are given. The modified power gain setup is described. Four pairs of units were tested. E ch pair had power gain in excess of 25 db at 500 watts output. Diffusion, dicing, and aluminum contact alloying operations are described. Some mechanical and environmental results are given. (Author)
