INCREASED OPERATIONAL CAPABILITY OF A LORAN-C RECEIVER (TECHNICAL NOTE)

Abstract

Identi iers: LORAN. Operational testing and maintenance experience proved the necessity for a simpler and more direct approach in the design of the LORAN-C receiver for use as a navigational aid. It is indicated that increased operational capability can be achieved by automatic and continuous conversion of the LORAN-C hyperbolic time-difference information into the conventional geographic coordinates of latitude-longitude, the continuous panel display of guidance information, and the updating of the dead reckoning computer and/or the inertial guidance system.
