Abstract

The materials review was divided into two areas: (1) materials for space station and accessories and (2) re-entry materials. The following have been summarized and are presented: (1) The general environmental conditions to which expandable structures materials will be exposed; (2) the general material parameters, the results of literature survey in the areas of textile materials, high-temperature materials, elastomers, and ultraviolet degradation of polymers; and (3) the research review with respect to space station and accessories, and re-entry materials.
