BALLISTIC PROTECTIVE BUOYANT MATERIALS

Abstract

The effect upon buoyancy of the angle of submerged batts was inv stigated. Buoyancy of each sample increased as its angle to the water surface approached zero. Hydrophobed hollow cellulose ester s aple fibers did ot exhibit sufficient buoya cy to warrant further testing. buoyancy of an xperimental needled batt was upgraded by additional curing. A PROGRAM WAS INITIATED TO STUDY NEEDLING TECHNIQUES FOR THE PREPARATION OF SUITABLE BUOYANT-BALLI IC LINERS. (Author)
