INORGANIC HETEROPOLYMERS

Abstract

Work continued on the reactions of bis(cyclopentadienyl)tit nium dihalides, cp2TiCl2, with sodium organosilanolates and organosilanols. Three new titanium-silicon compounds were prepared. Another titanium compound was isolated as a side product in the reactions of cp2TiCl2 with sodium trimethylsilanolate and sodium dimethylphenylsilanolate, but it has not been fully identified. The stoichiometric study of the reaction of NaOSi0/3 with 0/3SnCl, (n-C4H9)2SnCl2 and (CH3)2SnCl2 in benzene has been completed. Since the above reactions were found to be rapid rate processes at room temperature, no detailed reaction mechanisms were established. Products were identified through detailed elemental analysis and infrared spectra. (Author)
