THE SPECTROPHOTOMETRY OF BRIGHT REVERSALS IN THE H AND K LINES OF THE SPECTRUM OF SUN-SPOT UMBRAE

Abstract

The profiles of t e K and H emission lines in the spectrum of sun-spot umbrae were tudie . Typical recordings of the spot spectrum in the K line and the plage spectrum were given. All the recordings of the spot spectra exhibit a slight asym etry in the upper part, which is evid ntly connec ed with the Evershe effec . The solid lines give the profiles of single reversal in K, Ca II lines in the spectrum of three spots. These profiles are in good agreement with a turbul nt velocity formula. (Author)
