PECULIARITIES OF AERODYNAMIC ARRANGEMENT OF SUBSONIC AIRCRAFT,

Abstract

At flight speeds close to the speed of sound, the difficulties of increasing flight speeds are aggravated in connection with the appearance of wave impedance. Wave impedance leads to sharp increase in aircraft drag and hampers the rise in speed. Reliable methods of reducing drag in the subsonic zone such as elimination of super structures and streamlining surfaces methods and other structural changes, are described. (Author)
