THE APPLICATION OF PROBABILITY METHODS TO THE SOLUTION OF CERTAIN NONLINEAR PROBLEMS IN THE APPLIED THEORY OF GYROSCOPES,

Abstract

A method of investigating dynamic systems containing essentially nonlinear elements is considered. The method is based on the use of improper integrals to obtain an explicit expression for the nonlinear functions. The specific example considered in this article shows that in certain cases the application of the method of statistical linearization to the study of nonlinear systems can actually lead to qualitatively incorrect results.
