A METHOD OF STABILIZING THE COMBUSTION ZONE IN COMBUSTION CHAMBERS OF RAM-JET ENGINES,

Abstract

A method of stabilizing the combustion zone in combustion chambers of ram-jet engines with liquid fuel fed into a moving air flow by an atomizer is described. In order to reduce the pressure losses in the stabilizer, the combustion zone is stabilized by feeding compressed air in a radial direction from the axis of the atomizer through a narrow annular slit located in front of the atomizer.
