EVALUATION OF STEP-UP HINGE WITH LOCK

Abstract

The initial and modified models of a step-up hinge with lock were evaluated for torque sustaining characteristics. A maximum safe torque sustaining capacity of 23.9 lb-ft was obtained from the modified model which was the best of the models evaluated. It was felt that this capacity was sufficient to begin field tests of the unit. (Author)
