A FAILURE TO FIND EFFECTS OF FUNCTION WORDS ON SERIAL POSITION CURVES IN FREE RECALL OF A RANDOMLY SELECTED LIST OF WORDS
Abstract
Tests were conducted on High Capacity Vented Nickel-Cadmium Cells (24 each of 6 types). None of the cells met the specified physical dimensions, mainly due to bulging in the length dimension; only 5 of the 144 cell vents passed the Vent Plug Release Test, the majority of failures resulting from plugs not releasing at the specified upper limit; cell types BB-437, 418, 438 and 439 failed to meet the discharge requirements after high temperature charged storage at 165 ! 2 F. for one week; 3 of the 8 cells, type BB-437()/U failed the High Frequency Vibration Test and 11 of the 24 cells of this type failed the Full Capacity Discharge Test on Cycle 6. On a retest, 8 of 11 of these cells failed. Although some cell types appeared to have failed the Low Temperature Test on Cycle No. 2, a retest, after restraining the cells to their proper dimensions and readjusting the electrolyte to 1.300 specific gravity, indicated that the cells met this requirement.
