A METHOD FOR IMPROVING ORGANIZATION IN LARGE COMPUTER-GENERATED INDEXES

Abstract

General consideration of some of the necessities of language data processing program development is discussed. First, programs are grouped into classes based on the kinds of improvements needed in their development. Second, the use of feedback is explored in the improvement of two of these classes of programs. Finally, the discussion narrows its focus to a method of using 'linguistic feedback' to improve the organization of computer-generated indexes. (Author)
