TITANIUM (6 A1-4V), HEAT TREATMENT OF

Abstract

Phase I: The current heat treatment for 6 Al 4V was modified to obtain the maximum strength without beta embrittlement. Tensile tests were conducted to determine the increase in strength obtained. Phase II: This part of the investigation was cancelled in lieu of a literature search for other titanium alloys with greater heat treatment response and hardenability. (Author)
