A DYNAMOMETER FOR THE TWO-DIMENSIONAL, FREE-JET WATER TUNNEL TEST SECTION

Abstract

A new dynamometer system has now been placed in operation in the two-dimensional test section of the free-jet water tunnel and has given satisfactory service for one year. It is a displacement type instrument, small displacements being measured by strain gages comented to flexure members. There are actually two identical dynamometers, one for the front face and one for the rear face of the tunnel. One of these is installed in the front face of the tunnel and photographs showing the assembly of the essential elements of the dynamometer are presented. (Author)
