FERROMAGNETIC HALL EFFECT IN GADOLINIUM

Abstract

The temperature dependence of the ferromagnetic Hall effect of polycrystalline gadolinium is presented and discussed. It was concluded that the net effect is probably the result of the spin-orbit interaction of the conduction electrons of d and s character together with a spindependent scattering probability. Several sources of a spin-dependent scattering probability are discussed. (Author)
