PROCESSES OF PHOTON AND EXO-ELECTRON EMISSION FROM ALKALI AZIDES

Abstract

Structural changes induced in potassium and sodium azides by irradiation and thermal decomposition were studied by observing thermoluminescence and exo-electron emission. Glow curves were taken between -196, and +400 C, which exhibited maxima both below and above room temperature. The details of the glow curves are interpreted on the basis of the present knowledge of electronic and decomposition processes occurring in these substances. (Author)
