ATOMIZATION OF LIQUIDS
Abstract
Atomization of liquids in 3 different types of atomizers is discussed. Recommendations are made for improving the degree of atomization. Mechanical atomizers: Operation of these atomizers has shown that the maller the section of the gui e (swirling) channels, the greater the degree of atomization of water. Steam-air atomizers: An efficient design provides for maximum air-stream velocity at the site of liquid atomization, minimum liquid-stream velocity at the site of its atomization, maximum cross-sectional surface of the liquid stream at the site of its atomization. Centrifugal atomizers: At a constant rotational velocity, the atomizer produces a uniform atomization with equal-size particles; practically any degree of atomization is possible.
