MATERIAL- GLASS CLOTH REINFORCED PLASTICS - ROOM AND ELEVATED TEMPERATURE - PROPERTIES OF

Abstract

The mechanical properties for 181, 183, 120, and 143 style fiberglass fabric reinforced plastic laminates reinforced with resins phenolic (Conolon 506), epoxy (Epon 828) and polyester (Laminac 4232) were obtained for the purpose of providing data for the determination of design allowables. These laminates were tested for Poisson's ratio, tensile properties, and bearing strength at room and higher temperatures and under wet conditioning. Tests were performed at various angle orientations to the direction of warp. Compression properties are to be reported in a later report.
