SUNRISE GEOMETRY AND THE OPTICAL DEPTH FACTOR

Abstract

The geometry of the non-refracting ionosphere is considered at sunrise. It is shown that the earth may be considered spherical in regard to ion production at sunrise. An effective method of dealing with the optical depth factor at sunrise is developed. (Author)
