THE INTERACTION OF ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION AND SEMICONDUCTORS

Abstract

The equations for the interaction of electromagnetic radiation and /emicond ctors were formulated using t e transmission line analogue. Effects such as predicted in the Drude-Zener theory for inertial effects in the infrared or low temperature region can e included. Experiments were conducted to measure fundamental proper ies of semiconductors by microwave techniques. I N ADDITION, A NEW FAMILY OF DEVICES WAS DEVELOPED SUCH AS AMPLITUDE AND PHASE ODULATORS SUITABLE FOR OPERATION FROM THE LOW MICROWAVE REGION TO WELL INTO THE I FRARED. (Author)
