THEORETICAL ANALYSIS OF AIR FLOWS AROUND WINGS LOCATED IN THE VICINITY OF THE GROUND. I. GROUND EFFECT ON THE CLARK Y 10 PROFILE. 11. GROUND EFFECT ON A FINITE SPAN WING

Abstract

The principle of the rheoelectrical analog method for the study of the ground effect on wing profiles was studied. Experiment has shown that the simulation of the stream function psi (x,y) is particularly appropriate if one limits oneself to the research of the lifting variation of the profile as a function of its altitude. Flow around the Clark Y 10 flapped profile located near the ground was studied. The flow around a wing located near the ground, of rectangular shape, and the aspect ratio of which is 2, was studied, taking into account the assumptions of the small perturbation linear theory.
