VARACTOR DIODE INDUSTRIAL PREPAREDNESS MEASURES

Abstract

Efforts were continued on the establishment of a capability to mass-produce a variable capacitance microwave diode. This diode, known as a ''varactor diode'', is a silicon diffused mesa device. Present work concerned: (1) the semiautomation of the hydraulic adjust; (2) the completed package assembly; (3) the glass diode; and (4) the axial pill diode. The semi-automation of the hydraulic adjust is discussed in detail and indicates an increase in production output along with improved reliability. (Author)
