THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY ON MATERIAL-INSULATION-THERMAL-SILICONE RUBBER FOAM, FIBERGLAS BATTING COMPOSITE, EPOXY BONDED MICROBALOON
Abstract
Guarded hot plate measurements with 250, 350 and 450 F hot face, and 120 F cold face temperatures were made with a foamed silicone rubber, a sewn fiberglass cloth, batting, and aluminum foil blanket composite, and an epoxy resin microbaloon composite. Thermal conductivity factors with BTU/in/hr were determined at 120-250, 120-350, and 120-450 F. Silicone rubber foam: 0.35, 0.40, 0.45; Fiberglas composite: 0.44, 0.42, 0.47; Epoxy bonded microbaloon: 0.96, 1.00, 1.20. Preparation details of each material are given. (Author)
