DETERMINATION OF CENTERS OF GRAVITY OF MAN

Abstract

The location of the center of gravity of the adult male in various body positions and the ability to shift the c.g. voluntarily with various body motions is studied. Maximum possible shifts of the c.g. from that of an erect standing posture were found to be 11 1/2 inches toward the head, 10 inches toward the feet, 8 inches anteriorly, 4 1/2 inches posteriorly and 4 1/2 inches laterally.
